Psychiatry People Appoint Professor Bruce Moore

 

Psychiatry People are delighted to announce that one of the United Kingdom’s most influential figures in Psychiatry, Professor Bruce Moore, has joined the company in the role of Non-executive Director.

In a move unprecedented in medical recruitment, the insight and backing of Bruce will help NHS Trusts choose with confidence when deciding which Recruitment Partner is best suited to securing outstanding talent for their permanent and temporary workforce.

Following several discussions, Bruce has decided that Psychiatry People have the necessary vision and commitment to excellence that will make a genuine difference to the way the NHS recruits and trains Psychiatrists, leading to only the highest calibre of expertise being added to the UK Mental Health Service.

Bruce Moore’s fact file and biography

 

Professor Moore graduated in medicine from The University of Liverpool in 1993 and trained in neuropsychiatry at the Institute of Neurology in London. In 1997 he was awarded the Laughlin Prize by The Royal College of Psychiatrists for the highest marks in the membership examination and subsequently completed his MD research in brain imaging and TMS. He has written numerous scientific articles and medical textbooks (winning the BMA book prize in 2000) and has lectured around the world and sat on international advisory boards.

He was an NHS consultant from 2000 to 2008, spending four years as Medical Director and was a member of the Royal College Medical Directors Executive. He has been Clinical Advisor to the Healthcare Commission, Medical Assessor to the Royal Pharmaceutical Society and represented NHS Hospitals on the National Provider Advisory Group for regulatory reform.

He now works as an Independent Consultant to healthcare organisations in the public and private sector and is Honorary Consultant at Cheadle Royal Hospital in Manchester and also leads the development of clinical neuroscience training at The University of Chester.
